I cant express how important dips are to building a solid physique. They are called the upper body squat for good reason. When done correctly, dips work almost every muscle in your upper body. Most people think of dips as a tricep exercise, but its primarily a chest exercise. If you dont feel it in your chest try leaning forward during the movement. Its important to lower your body down far as possible in order to fully stretch your chest muscles. Focus on contracting and using your chest to bring your body back up, instead of just your arms. If you cant do a single dip use a dip-assist machine if your gym has one. Or, jump up and slowly lower your body down (negative reps). I perform dips on chest day and typically do 3-4 sets to failure. At least once per week I test myself and see how many total dips I can get in 3 sets (2 min. rest between sets).
