I consider myself a generally strong person when it comes to being able to stomach or handle certain things. I am not too easily grossed out because I have firefighters, cops, and EMTs in my family so blood and gore is something I am quite accustomed to. I have no major phobias that I know of although I do not spend a lot of time looking for new ones. I tend to be judgmental at times, but that is because my prejudices are not about skin color, gender, ethnicity, or creed, but rather about actions. I tend to automatically label child molesters, rapists, abusers, and people who commit vile acts of cruelty against people or animals as being the worst of humanity. In other words I look down on such pathetic wastes of time and oxygen. But at the same time I also acknowledge that in some cases there could be some mental handicap that causes certain criminal behaviors to occur. I am somewhat familiar with criminal profiling at least from a novice point of view. So why I am saying all of this? Lets just say I tend to sometimes run into a headline that catches my attention and as I read I reach a whole new level of prejudice or find that my thick skin that can bounce back so easily at the sight of blood and body parts on the ground, suddenly does not seem to be so thick anymore. I guess even I have my limits.
