I dare to say, in basis of my little understanding and knowledge, that why questions (existential questions) embodied in the answers in theology, art etc , together with theology, art etc, came about long ago, in a time when our more evolved brain capability allowed us to answer such questions, in a time of terrible fear of death from our ancestors, in a time when we didnt know whats going on, in a time that we didnt understand the natural phenomena and the whole world around us, in a time surrounded by the greatest fears and confusion. Art is the result of and representation of such fears and of this confusion that perhaps still haunts us. Theology is the same. Therefore,these two ways of looking and understanding the world, represent the primitive thinking of the world around us, and therefore, the why questions, may well be, stupid ones.
