So I am just finishing my psychology/201 class. One thing that stands out to me is the difference between nurture and nature. There are so many stages of development. We go through the embryo stage, through prenatal stage, and development stages. The word of God says( in Jeremiah 1:5) that Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations. This means that even throughout these stages he knew the plan he had for us. it says it very clearly in Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. I went on to learn that at birth, as it is in the natural ,we are separated from our mothers..Is that so?? Yes of course.. Once the umbilical cord is cut, we are no longer attached to our mothers. In Galatians 1:15 it says But when God, who set me apart from my mothers womb and called me by his grace, was pleased. Even during the prenatal stages he was still creating us in his perfect image psalms 139:13 says it perfectly For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. We are no mistake.... He was already pleased with us the moment he separated us. Now we go into the nurturing stages. In these stages we are babies being nurtured by our parents. Our mother still feeds us from her breast, but our father (in heaven) feeds us spiritually. Thats the one we never lack nourishment from, unless we separate ourselves from him. Newborn humans are also equipped with reflexes present for the first few months of life. Babies have a “rooting” instinct, in which a touch on the cheek causes them to turn and open their mouths Those are called instincts that we are born with. Thats the difference of nature and nurture.. One we are born with one and the other we need from our parents. As I said I mentioned earlier our father is he who nurtures us. He knows what we need. I urge you today that if you have fallen away from his nurturing... If you havent completely allowed him to nourish you.. If you live by nature instincts and think you can survive on your own.. understand that is not true. We need to be nurtured. We live in a lost and dying world. We cant survive without our nourishment that can only be given to us by the father. He who created us.. I just want to take the time to lift those up who need the nourishment of our heavenly father. I ask you Lord that you will give the the nourishment they need to live. I pray that their hearts be open to you Lord . You put this on my heart for a reason and your word says Lord that it does not come back void So Lord let your word go forth and come back to you as your will set out for it, starting with me Lord in jesus name amen
