I decided to repost a previous reply of mine: The law condemns while grace pardons sin, and since we all do sin (Ec.7:20; 1Jn.1:8,10) those under the law are condemned while those under grace will no longer be judged (Rom.8:1), as God promises to not even think about their sin (Jer.31:34). Old covenant = law ... new covenant = grace, its either one or the other (Rom.7:6; Gal.3:3). And dear friends, the answer is no to those who may ask whether we shall sin now that we are under grace (Rom.6:15), because by this same grace we were freed from the power of sin (Rom.5:21), so that by rebirth in Christ as new creatures (2Cor.5:17), we desire to heed Gods voice (cf.Rom.6:12) as He works within us, both to will & to act according to His good pleasure (Php.2:13). Romans 8:13, For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live, You are either under the law or led by the Spirit (Gal.5:18), either controlled by the Spirit or controlled by the sinful nature (Rom.8:9), and either serving in the newness of the Spirit, or in the oldness of the letter/law (Rom.7:6). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now to my mind it is obvious that those Jews who rejected the Messiah, who denied that Christ has come in the flesh, would still hold on to the Old Covenant as if Jesus never came. What a terrible sin, for those through whom the Scriptures came, to deny that the Lord of the Sabbath has come (cf.Matt.12:8). We who then live in light of the glorious truth of the New Covenant, testify to it by way of life, not through a single day, but every day through love bearing witness to our discipleship (Jn.13:35; cf.Heb.13:15), even the love of Christ that was poured out into our newly created hearts (Rom.5:5; Ezek.36:26). Now the question remains: Of which Covenant would your life be a testimony? Do you deny or acknowledge Christ by your actions? (reference with 1Jn.4:3; Jn.14:10) Matthew 11:28, Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Hebrews 4:3, Now we who have believed enter that rest, ...
