I dont normally post political stuff . . . but the topic of voter apathy is one that is near and dear to my heart. I have seen it up close and personal . . . and I dont for the life of me understand it . . . (excuse me while I get on my soap box) If you dont vote, you have no right to complain about how things turn out when OTHERS do vote . . . are you registered? Are you sure? Call your local board of election office and find out. If you arent registered - get registered and VOTE. If you are registered, find out where your polling place is and VOTE!! So what if its not a Presidential election year. In Ohio this is the year we vote for a new governor. We have a chance to clean house and vote the bums out and let someone else have a chance. If you dont like whats going in in Ohio and in America, you have a right, an obligation, a chance to do something about it besides whine about how bad it its or how unfair it is or whatever everyone whines about. There are hundreds of thousands (possibly millions I dont know for sure coz Im up here on my soap box and didnt do my research) that have fought and died for that right and so many Americans take it for granted. My wonderful dad, for example, froze his ass off (and almost lost his toes) at the Chosin Reservoir for that right and all the other rights we enjoy here in America. If he can do that, then what excuse do I have to not stop by my local polling place and cast my vote? GO VOTE!!! (She carefully steps off her soap box . . . )
