I dont usually share stuff like this, but a friend commented on it and as I read it I got physically nauseous. This has happened too many times, even by people I would call friends. I know that sometimes having a dog is hard (I know it - I adopted a dog with serious behavioral issues, fears, and struggles and have had her for the past 10 years, now into old age). Its not all sunshine and rainbows and snuggles on the couch. But, I beg you: PLEASE dont take on the responsibility of an animal - a living thing - a sentient being - and then discard your animal like an empty moving box when your circumstances change. If you absolutely must re-home an animal, see to it yourself. If you dont want the serious, multiple-times-daily job of caring for another being, of feeding it, paying for its care, seeing to its illness, cleaning up its poop, pee, and vomit... then dont get a dog or cat or bird. And for gods sake if you want to have a pet, please adopt it from a shelter. They are full of dogs like this one.
