I filed a claim online for one of our iPads which is insured with an extended coverage policy. The charger port is malfunctioning, and I cannot completely charge the device although I tried different chargers. The questionnaire asked how the damage occurred, and I replied by stating that I did not know why the port was malfunctioning. The following is an excerpt of their reply to me. We noticed that an actual description of the incident is incomplete. We need to understand how the damage occurred to your property. Please include some details for clarification. Below are some of the descriptions that we typically receive to explain the damage to devices. 1. It fell from the bed 2. It fell out of my pocket and into the toilet 3. It was crushed or dropped while inside my back pack Hopefully this will assist you in further understanding the detail we need in order to process your claim. I was really annoyed and called them up. The agent basically repeated what the email said. They need to know how the damage occurred so I told her that I plugged my vacuum cleaner into it. She wasnt amused but rather told me to resubmit and simply state that I didnt know how the damage occurred which I had done the first time. It is said that patience is a virtue, so...
