I find myself in a position of dissenting opinion again. Although I think negative reviews of restaurants are necessary, they need to be conducted in an ethical and balanced manner. Lets not forget that somebodys business and the livelihoods of dozens are affected by this. INQUIRER.net you should really do a better job of observing journalistic ethics in restaurant reviews. Here are my reasons why I think this article is terrible: 1. The restaurant has been open two weeks. This is still the soft opening phase and will not give your readers an accurate depiction of how this restaurant will be once they get some traction. 2. The review is based on one visit. Restaurants (especially new restaurants) have bad days, just like you. It is unfair and unbalanced to base a negative review on a single visit. 3. The author bases his review of the food on two dishes! This is not an adequate sampling to make an intelligent assessment of the restaurants food. 4. The review is highly subjective. Im sorry you dont like exposed ceilings, but I also dont care. Its not about you. Its about this restaurant, and what kind of experience your readers might expect to have if they visit this restaurant. Once again the pivotal word here is balance.
