I found the old forum rules! Ahh, nostalgia. Welcome to Phoneburnia. There arent very many rules here, but you probably should know the few that there are. - You can say pretty much anything you want, but keep in mind that what you say is being distributed on a public forum, so if you make an idiot of yourself, you likely wont be able to do anything about it. You should at least try to be respectful of other members and keep in mind that people here are all ages and nationalities. Obviously, neither the Phoneburnia management or the community is responsible for comments made by individual members. - If you find yourself in a part of the forum youve never been before, please read any forum guidelines threads that may apply. For Example, if you end up in the trusted list forum, take a look at the rules there before posting. Different areas of the forum have different rules and posts there will be treated differently by moderators. - If you post spam, it will be incinerated. If you accidentally have posted something useless, dont worry about it, everyone makes mistakes. Dont make a habit of it, though, or youll need to be taught a lesson. - If you get into the habit of posting meaningless spam (that is, if what you post isnt even an attempt at something worth reading), youll find that your posts are deleted altogether, and eventually well treat you like a bot (and youll lose the ability to post). - Try to avoid posting in old (> 2 weeks since last post) threads unless your post is of significant relevance and interest to do so. It isnt a big deal if you do this occasionally (although youll probably draw the wrath of fellow members), but if you make a habit of dredging up old topics without a contemporarily relevant reason youll also draw the wrath of the forum administration. - Youre welcome to digress from the original topic of a thread, but as a courtesy you should make a new thread if you want to discuss something completely different. (Dont deliberately change the subject) - If a post breaks one of the rules, the worst thing you can do is reply to it with a post saying nothing but that the previous post breaks a rule. For example, one easy way to make yourself look like an idiot is to reply to a new thread thats obviously spam (and will inevitably be incinerated for being such) with a post saying Spam., or replying to a necro post with any colourful variation of Necro post. All of the mods here are certifiably literate and are capable of the basic reasoning required to assess whether a post has broken a rule, so you dont need to. On the other hand, if you want to post something helpful, (like You shouldnt post in threads that are six months old unless you have something to contribute to them), by all means, go ahead. - Do not create an alias account unless your original account is maimed beyond repair. (This does not include bans, of course, which will be automatically carried over onto any aliases you create) In practice, the only circumstance under which the creation of a new account is acceptable is when you have completely forgotten your password and have no way of accessing your existing account. If you create an alias for a legitimate reason, please PM a mod about it as soon as the account is created. Do not create sockpuppets. It will make you look like a complete idiot and if you make a habit of it, you will be treated as a spammer. - Show that you have at least made a serious effort to use correct spelling and grammar. We do not care what language you want to use, but please use that language properly. Its alright for your posts to be written in something other than university-level english, as long as youve at least tried to keep it readable. (And before you get any ideas, please dont waste our time with BS about how your embarrassing attempted english is actually some private language of yours) ==DrTimothy
