I get tired of being judged based on how I look. I must be a thug. Tatted, locd, fitted, gotta be a crook. Couldnt possibly be a great father, a great friend, great son. Couldnt possibly be intelligent, couldnt possibly speak well, couldnt possibly have my fist up, have love for the people, couldnt just be a great man. I get it yall, I dont look the part, but dam at least hear me out, check whats in my heart. They say come as you are so thats what Im doing. Tearing down the stereotype that people that look like me have to live through from white folk and even my own dam people. These cops thats shooting black men see them as thugs, criminal. Its scary to look like this these days, you never know in what light will they see you, at what point will they pull the trigger. But still I rise. No fear in my heart. As I keep riding for my team, repping for the conscious brothas that look like me...
