I had a talk with my parents today on Skype and they were so kind to tell me that they are very proud of me, of how we are living our lives and the choices that we made and make… My father told me that his colleagues are in awe, that they dont get how we can live like we do, without electricity and hot water and in the middle of nowhere. And that he doesnt get why we are making such a big fuss about eating differently, without meat and gluten…. Honestly, after three years, sometimes even I wonder what im doing out here… Why are we making it so difficult for ourselves? Why do we want to plant our own food, live without electricity and water and normal toilets and showers? Why do we usually choose the more complicated way of doing things? Why do we eat so differently? Why do I not surrender to the easier path? Why do I not conform to modern society? Why do I not go back to the Netherlands where I can live my life in a normal house, with a normal car, a normal job, with light, water, closed rooms and beautiful bedrooms and luxury bathrooms, surrounded by friends and family and all the easiest solutions within reach? Well, seeing this documentary again today, I remember EXACTLY why! Im doing this because I want to have a healthy body, healthy planet, healthy home for all of us and our future generations… And thanks to my husband and our project, I have a chance to make a small change… to show that its possible to do it differently… https://youtube/watch?v=jqxENMKaeCU
