I had an interview with a lady from Spokane who is working on her doctorate. She wanted to hear about the process of the Columbia River Treaty from the perspective of the local government committee of which I am vice-chair. I insisted on taking her for a tour of our waterfront so that she could have some perspective on what happens with the water levels in our lake and also I wanted her to see what Nakusp used to look like before the flooding. Took her to the BC Hydro sign below the Leland Hotel. She had no idea. Filled her in our concerns about water levels, riparian and ecological issues as well as the human aspect.
