I had big plans for 2014... This was to be the year of results! I was supposed to have a novel finished, and another on deck, a screenplay and an anthology of 12 short stories... I have to say, I am on track! (The screenplay is on back burner...though I do have a 9 pg. treatment for one Im going to tackle.) My first novel will be done at the end of this month! Somewhere around the 60,000 words mark. Then I begin the challenge of shelving it for 12 weeks without editing* (writing is editing) and begin an entirely new novel to finish by December, and that one will be in the 90,000 word ballpark. Im going to attempt to push my word count per day up to 1,250-1,500 so I can get ahead on the short stories as well. (I have 2 completed. 10 more to go!) The next plan is to buy a camera in the first quarter of 2015, so I can rekindle the other half of my passion: film. But thats an eternity away. Lets stay focused on the task at hand, knocking out 1K a Day and finish out this year the right way: with results! MRC *The editing process is what Im looking forward to the most. Actually having something finished is goal #1, but being able to go back and add in scenes, or extend scenes (or cut them) will be extremely satisfying.
