“I have Nothing to do with Education” said KCB CEO, Chauhan Nothing to do with Education??? Newly appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Khadki Cantonment Board (KCB) KJS Chauhan has recently stated that he has nothing to do with education, when a lady press reporter accessed to interview him. After waiting for long 3.5 hours the press reporter and one more reporter from a well known newspaper got a chance to meet CEO but he firmly denied to have a word with them regarding education and instantly said “Mera education se kuch lena dena nahi hai” (I do not have anything to do with education). And instead of answering the reporter he suggested to him to cover the interview of an English medium school of KCB. Then he rudely asked the reporter from which paper she belongs, when the reporter revealed the name and said its newly launched, Chauhan sarcastically replied “I have never heard the name of such a paper, or may be my ability doesnt allow me to read more than 6 different newspapers a day.” The scene did not end here only, after he denied to have any concern with education he told the reporter “neither you, nor your editor are aware of my job profile, and you are questioning me without knowledge.” Prior to CEO when this lady reporter met Vice-President Manish Anand, she got to know that 8 various schools which comes under KCB have the right to report to CEO regarding problem with schools and education. And Anand firmly stated that education, health and hygiene are the key areas of board which can not be denied at any cost. As per the Cantoments Act Duties of CEO- subject to the provisions of clause(c) and clause(d) of , sub-section(1), of section 21, the Chief Executive Officer shall- a) exercise all the powers and perform all duties conferred on imposed upon him by or under this act or any other law for the time being in force; b) subject to any restrictions, limitations and conditions imposed by this act, to exercise executive power to ensure that the administration of the Board is carried out in accordance with the provisions of this act; c) prescribe the duties of, and exercise supervision and control over the acts and proceedings of all officers and employees of the Board; d) be responsible for the custody of all records of the Board; e) arrange for the performance of such duties related to the proceedings of the Board or of any Committee of the board or of any committee of Arbitration constituted under this Act, as those bodies may respectively impose on him; and f) comply with every requisition of the Board on any matter pertaining to the administration of the cantonment. Chauhan, who was CEO of Jabalpur Cantonment Board before Khadki, has recently quoted in an interview to TOI that “ the outgoing CEO has done considerable amount of work in the fields of education and health. I will ensure to carry this forward.” And now after few months from holding the office he replies” nothing to do with Education”.
