I have an idea: After doing extensive research about programs and organizations in the Kootenai County area, I have came up with a scathingly brilliant idea. We waste food and think nothing of it...so often...so if that annoys you to throw away left overs simply because you forgot it in your fridge or left it out instead of putting it away: make a positive change. Break the habit by placing a coin jar above your fridge in a safe location. Each time you toss food, toss the approximate money amount you wasted in the jar as well. That money is no longer yours. This November, take the money and donate as many Turkeys or Thanksgiving items as it buys to your Local Food Bank. They never are able to serve as many people as they need. We always think it is the starving kids in China, but they are your next door neighbor too. Maybe you will break your habit too, and save money that could be used in a better way. Just an idea. Please share if you think you can make a difference. If this is shared with you, please do not think that your Facebook friend thinks you are wasting food. :)
