I have been asked several times how does Dialysis work? What does it look like? Answer: They put in two needles tape them to my arm so they dont come out and through a series of tubes pull the blood out of my body run it through the dialysis machine through a filter called a dialyser it acts as my artificial kidney cleaning my blood and removing water through a process called reverse osmosis. Then it sends the clean blood back to my body. During a single treatment (about 4 hours) it will run my entire volume of blood through the machine over 25 times and remove up to 14.5 pounds of fluid.
