I have been getting inundated with messages the past week with the same message about a white transit van which is going around Dundee and Perth stealing dogs with the registration MW55 UTE. After doing a bit of digging and speaking to other pet groups this white van reg has been a rumour which has been doing the rounds since earlier this year and started down in England. In saying that after everything which happened to Effie the spaniel if pet owners ever do see anything suspicious then please do contact the police. In this day in age pet owners I think do sadly need to be more careful and in some cases need to take more responsibility by not leaving their dogs unattended outside shops and make sure your pets are micro-chipped! Remember not everyone who drives a white van is bad and is out to steal your dog! Iv spoken to lots of people who drives vans who feel they have sometimes been painted in a bad light because what they drive. At the end of the day a dog thief can drive any car and not all fit the stereotypical description which is normally passed around all over Facebook.
