I have been in conversations with people lately where they say that they want to help but that they are not millionaires, or that if they only could win the lottery they would then help. Let me challenge you! It doesnt take that to make a difference in ONE childs life. I met a man on my first trip to the Dominican who grew up as part of a child sponsorship program and was sponsored by an elderly woman. This gentleman pulled out a letter from his pocket from his former sponsor. He had outgrown the program but still communicated with his former sponsor and carried the most current letters around from her. He said because of knowing that this one person was caring for him and praying for him he did his best and now as a grown up wanted to give back to his community and had started a program for children to care for them after school as a place to stay safe.
