I have been overwhelmed by the incredible response to the Miss Universe Canada 2014 - Chanel Beckenlehner National Costume I designed. I have a lot of people Id like to acknowledge and thank. First and foremost my Assistant Designer Jenn Burton who is amazing. Thank you Jenn, couldnt have done it without your awesome skills and dedication! Its so wonderful to work with such a good friend. Next, my husband John MacGillivray and his amazing team at ACME FX who sposored Chanel by fabricating the amazing scoreboard and Stanley cup; Sam Mujkanovic (senior fabricator), Chris Card (senior electronics technician), Jason Board (fabricator), Terry Doyle (fabricator) Cam Paterson (fabricator) and Brad Weiss (office manager @ Acme fx) As well as all the other partners Rob Sanderson, Warren Appleby, Tim Barraball, and Danny White. My friend Karen Lee was Buyer, Coordinator, and general problem solver, thanks Karen! My sister Leslie Kavanagh for being a sounding board, so convenient to have another Costume Designer in the family. Speaking of family, my amazing mother Ann Kavanagh for all the support. Id like to thank Caft Cad for the initial introduction as well as helping and supporting the process. Jeff Churchill at Jitterbug Boy did such and exceptional job customizing the great Rudsak boots Karen Lee found, and did it so quickly, THANK-YOU! I couldnt have been happier. Adam Smith lent his considerable talent to create the patent leather hockey pads. Susan Dicks made the corset and did a bunch of alterations after our fitting, great job! Lara Copeland Miller created the wig, thank-you! And all the local suppliers who were so helpful specially Leos Textiles, Kala Kendar, and Farthingales. Our goal was to get Chanel noticed: Mission Accomplished!
