I have decided to not contest in the upcoming General Elections. There are a good number of reasons in addition to the observations that some of you have made. 1.For some reason, we at Loksatta havent been able to blaze away despite the complete solution that we have for Indian Politics. It has been an uphill task to organize volunteers and monetary support in Karnataka . 2. Contesting was ideal but we needed more preparation. Since the party had given up the idea of contesting in as early as January or was searching for few noted and winning candidates, it has been a mix up with no clarity. As such the chances now are very remote. 3. But this is in no way an indication of the non eligibility of LSP to contest and nor of myself. But circumstances arent favoring my contesting this time. Thus I have taken this decision despite not being fully in favor of it myself. I havent taken this decision based on any one particular suggestion. In fact most seniors suggested me to contest. But I am constrained by time and other resources. 4. As regarding this election, my support goes to NDA wherever they have a good or even a decent candidate with no black mark in his/her political career. I request my friends and supporters to consider the same in view of the stable government that we need to have at the Center. This is my personal opinion and not that of the party. Many thanks to all those who gave their honest opinion and of course to those who assured me of support in case I contest and also to those who were okay with any decision that I take. Right now lets play our part in this election and lets definitely work to build a stronger Loksatta for the next elections. And you need to remember that LSP will not be built by itself. If you believe that the cause is good, please come forward and involve yourselves to build a stronger LSP for the future. You are as much stakeholders as any of us are. Thanking you Yours truly,
