I have dreams.. I see advancement, development and potential for excellence where others see nothing or dont know where to start. Was the Town planner of Germiston/Johannesburg and 5 surrounding cities by the age of 25..senior planner of the biggest cities all by chance(my boss died of a heart attack) although initially temporary i was given the full time job for three years till i left to teach.. (High School Tech Drawing and Math in my home town)...I personally planned the roads, reticulation , businesses and homes for 3 townships and developed them into cities.. Beat the apartheid laws in SA and became the first person to sell a house to a black lecturer and friend in a all white area..a decade before apartheid was abolished. Traveled ,sailed and saw sights that few can imagine, have seen up close and personal over half the world..navigating and chartering through waters that so many said you must be mad to go alone. Started bars, clubs and restaurants on three continents , not all successful but memories worth millions.. Have seen potential in old abandoned churches in London, empty hotels in Miami and even in the little badly developed downtown area of Johnson City. The Church nightclub still rocks, Raleigh Hotel and Shore Club hotels are where the stars now stay on south beach and downtown JC has taken forever, but it is starting to look how i envisioned it 17 years ago. Starting the Friends of downtown, planing parks, lighting and music festivals was the most draining project i ever volunteered for..I have never in all my travels come across a more negative group of business/city people ..Still the Blue Plum has grown, 70s facades have been torn off and my old Train Depot has sprung back to life... After loosing my house through fraud and taking a few other personal knocks i needed a year off to reevaluate.. that year is up in a few weeks.. i have a new dream..
