I have enough friends supporting Israelis and Palestinians from afar to be able to roll my eyes every time I open facebook. I live in this war and I struggle for peace (not a ceasefire but Semitic Unity). And Id like to speak my mind to all the activists overseas. If you support one people here over another, thats completely legitimate. If you believe justice lies more with one side than with the other thats also cool. But if you really believe justice to lie exclusively with one side and that the other has no legitimate grievance or motivation to fight, youre naive. And if you ignore the reality people are actually living in and instead try to superimpose an identity and ideology on those you relate to as your enemies in order to stuff them into your narrow understanding of this conflict, then youre actually part of the problem for both peoples here. Oh. And being a token Jew blindly supporting Palestinians or a token Arab blindly supporting Israel doesnt make you any less ridiculous. In fact it might actually make you a bigger clown.
