I have had several messages lately asking for an all natural flea and tick spay. We currently have 3 dogs here on the farm currently, we had 4 until our wonderful old lab Bear passed over a few weeks ago. Did you know? The Humane Society reported 1,600 animal deaths related to flea and tick products for 2008. Even the EPA recognizes most of the chemicals used in these products as poisonous, hazardous, and likely human carcinogens. I could go on and on about the dangers and detailing which chemicals to avoid but I think it’s best if we agree we should just avoid these products altogether. All natural Flea & Tick spray for dogs: Ingredients 4 oz apple cider vinegar 2 oz Distilled water 2 oz Aloe vera 1 oz Castille soap, (shredded & melted) 10 Drops of lemongrass essential oil 10 Drops of peppermint essential oil Instructions 1.Combined all ingredients in an 8 oz spray bottle, preferably glass or at least dark PET or PETE plastic 2.For prevention: Before going outside, spray on dogs fur until it is slightly damp and work with your hands 3.For treatment: Spray on dogs fur until damp and with a fine comb tooth comb through 4.Avoid spraying the face (Pic: Montana and his best friend Chance.
