I have heard some news concerning Bob Campbell, one of my best friends who toured as a replacement singer for Lew DeWitt and sang with The Statler Brothers on the Johnny Cash Show that performed at Soldier Field in Chicago to 55,000. He is recovering from surgery, having battled cancer since May. His wife has let me know that he is coming home to Staunton this Saturday. May God grant Bob tender mercies and a full recovery. The surgery was for throat cancer; consequently, it more than likely will end his life-long career as a vocalist. I request that my "Facebook" friends remember Bob in prayer. He is a Christian, and he has written many songs that Bob Campbell and the Coachmen have performed. You may wish to Google Bob Campbell and the Coachmen. Bob is a giving person, and I am pulling for his recovery.
