I have just finished House of Cards: Guns Edition. COD:AW was the stim shot that the series desperately needed after the abysmal Ghosts. The new mechanics were not revolutionary, but were very well executed and proved themselves as good answers to threats from Battlefield and Titanfall. The story fell short (I keep holding out for something to rival COD4) despite their best efforts; it felt like a solid short story rather than the epic it professes to be. Kevin Spacey was the one-man show, and became one of CODs most interesting characters. Unfortunately, the character development was too abrupt for the TWEEST, but still a good performance from one of the best actors out there. I really enjoyed the sci-fi elements of the game because it accomplished what BLOPS2 could not. The campaign had sections where it encouraged creativity with the plethora of tech assets like grappling hooks and boosting. Some of the special sections like the AST suit were really fun as well. The visuals were impressive, and the art direction were equally beautiful. The levels arent Anor Londo, but the near-future sci-fi theme fits well into the games vision. The globetrotting locales actually fit the plots themes and not just setpieces. Regardless, the deal with #callofduty is that you either like it---at which youve preordered the Day Zero edition---or you dont, and nothing will change your mind. That being said, #advancedwarfare is a great entry, though I hope the next one will bring a groundbreaking story like COD4 did.
