I have to tell this story... David Mewes dad, Ron Mewes, had an old abandoned farm house in the middle of a field on some property he owned. I taught the young people at First Christian Church in West Salem. Im not sure who came up with the idea, but we decided to create a haunted house and the Mewes property was perfect. We wired the house for sound and it was really a creepy sound. We even had sound going up the chimney. There were bales of hay arranged in such a way as to make tunnels, forcing the young people to crawl through the tunnels. We had a casket and I was in it. It was truly a great haunted house. The youth group was led to the house. One young Pollack girl wore white slacks which didnt fare well with the grapes (eye balls) we had all over the floor. Jeff Ingram was so frightened on the approach to the house, my wife, Sandy, said he almost squeezed her hand off. I can say, without a doubt, we scared the fire out of those young people that dark night. Does anyone remember this great feat of fright night on the Mewes farm that night?
