I just heard back from the songwriting contest I entered a few months ago. I did not win one of the 6 final slots, and so just dismissed it as another educational experience. A few days later, they contacted me and told me that one of my songs had been a semi-finalist. In this case, it was a song I had written without a collaborator, and it was actually about 15 years ago. Truly gratifying! I do not have a great desire to make it big nor do I have any fear or resistance to doing so. What I DO have, is a vision that these songs are important, and that they can sometimes contribute a great deal of healing to the world.Now THAT is something I want to be BIG.
