I just received a press release from the Downtown Carlisle Association heralding that they have purchased some security cameras using a sponsorship by Goodman Birtcher, the controversial warehouse developer who required zoning changes by Carlisle and North Dickinson in order to build a speculative monster warehouse complex. I want to be very clear that as a downtown business, we do not in any way support the warehouse project or taking what I consider blood money from the developer. When this offer was made by Goodman Birtcher before the zoning had been decided, I reached out to the DCA and encouraged them not to compromise our community by taking what looks like monetary enouragement to look the other way. Both the DCA and Mayor Scott, who broke the zoning change vote tie in favor of the warehouse, are quoted in the press release as being very pleased. We here at Georgie Lous do not support this decision.
