I just saw The Legend of Hercules and wow this is my new worst movie of 2014, the acting for the most part is poor, Kellan Lutz cant act to save his life as he lacked the needed charisma for me to buy him or even care about his character, the CG is some of the worst I have ever seen which is inexcusable given this movie had a $70 million budget which makes me wonder where did that money go, the editing is atrocious to where I seriously wonder if the editor was drunk because there are plenty of continuity errors such as the scene where the Nemean lion pops up and Hercules brother (who was on his right) gets smacked by it to where he is knocked to the ground, and literately the next scene is back up and on Hercules left, the music is generic and not memorable, the fight scenes are ANNOYING because they abuse the ever loving crap out of slow motion to where it felt like whenever someone got punched they would kick it in or have it in scenes that didnt warrant it like a horse jumping over a log, on top of that the action scenes at best last a minute to where it should have been Rated R which wouldnt salvage the movie at all but it would have made the fight scenes not feel so horribly watered down, the production value (costume design, backgrounds, sets, etc) is horrible to where something has gone seriously wrong when a show on Starz has better production value then a multi-million theatrically released movie, the directing is horrible, and the writing and/or story in incompetent as things dont make sense as a movie and if you know anything about Greek mythology youll be pulling the hair out of your head as things do not make a lick of sense with one example Hara being A-OK with Zeus impregnate someone with his son, how did Hercules get the skin to the Nemean lion when his brother claimed credit for killing it and took the skin, the list goes on, on top of that the story feels like a cobbled up version of things we have already seen and done a million times better, the dialogue is horrible, just the overall movie is horrendous, the only entertaining part I can say is Scott Adkins as the main villain King Amphitryon because really fake beard aside holy crap he was laughably over the top to where he might as well wear a I am evil T-Shirt because every line it feels like either hes groaning or yelling his lines and its entertaining with how much he is overacting, when its all said and done do I recommend The Legend of Hercules? Good god no this movie is horrendous and there are far better not just movies in general but also movies surrounding Greek Mythology that are far more worth your time!
