I know its late but this is my first chance to do so... I want to say thank you so much to all of those who made Almost Fatal Festival 2014 one of the greatest days of my life. 6 months of hard work finally paid off in our huge blast of headbanging, beer, accordions, crowdsurfing to the bar (a personal highlight of mine), guitar shaped cakes, blastbeats, deathgrowls, corpse paint, amongst many other acts of debauchery and blasphemy! Thanks as always to Joshua and the Wheatsheaf staff for hosting every Almost Fatal event, Gary Young for his expertise and support throughout, Dominic as our incredible soundguy all day (a 19 hour day!!), Lisa and Lauren for their confectionary, Keith Evans, Paul Wilson and all of the photographers for capturing every second of the event, Caron for her great help on the door (even extending her time there to help us out), Bryn for the PA hire, Gordon for the lighting hire and, of course, my gorgeous girlfriend Holly Samantha Routledge for her tireless support and endless devotion by my side. Every single band that play my events have been cherrypicked as my personal choices and this day was certainly no different. I have been told on so many occasions that yesterday featured a stellar lineup without a single downpoint. Consistently amazing music from the first minute to the last including a grindcomedy set from Twice the Trauma, Sludge powerhouse riffs from Lizard Tongue, a thrash masterclass from Exxxekutioner, acoustic sea shanties from Iron SeaWolf, blackened death blasphemers Sathamel, a Swedish death metal trip back to the 90s with Austerymn, an amazing reception for Repulsive Vision (thank you all for your support), shirtless tattooed Viking metal from Shades of Avalon, an incredible unique PISTal Juice set, Vomitous semen covered cacophonies from FOETAL JUICE, an intriguingly epic folk metal set by Gymir, a mindblowing death metal attack by headliners Desecration, Vicious black metal from Old Corpse Primitive Graven Image and finally, a storming hour of classic NWOBHM featuring the welcome return of Iandavison Swift in Avenger UK! Finally, thank you to EVERYONE who made the effort to come down, especially those who traveled from elsewhere to get to this event. It was a pleasure to put this on and a privilege to get to share it with some epic people. Cheers Hopefully if we have some more pictures, vids, stories, reviews, etc, Ill try and set up a site for Almost Fatal Festival and hopefully bring it back in the near future.
