I learned a long time ago to just be myself and never change to - TopicsExpress

I learned a long time ago to just be myself and never change to impress people or to get an advantage. I have been told I am old fashioned in my preaching style, but God still gives me new and fresh messages everyday to share with others. I have not changed much in my presentation over the years because I am an individual. I have learned not to apologize for who I am, but to be the best I can be as who I am. A message on my mind right now makes me search my heart deeply. We have people all around us and some of them are highly important to us, but what would happen if they were not there tomorrow. What would happen if they were never in our lives again on this side of heaven? Would we look back and think I should have treated them better. We take some people for granted thinking they will just always be there for us when we want them to be; however, that is far from being true. When we slip out of this life we don’t just ride off into the sunset, we leave only memories behind and will never return. We all go through common trials and tribulations and not one of us are immune from sickness. None of us are immune from death. We will all pass into eternity. Should we stop and think about the people in our lives today? Should we be treating them differently? Should we respect them more than we do? How bad would you miss the people in your life if they were no longer here? As a child I remember the great gatherings we had at my Grandparents home. We always had great fellowship and plenty of love to go around. One thing I never remember happening was fussing and fighting. It seemed everyone looked forward to getting together. Great meals, great fellowship, games, hunting, fishing, and many other things we enjoyed doing. When they passed away things changed greatly. The gatherings all seemed to fall apart and each individual family would gather at their own house with their children coming to visit. We had many great gatherings at Dad and Mom’s house over the years until they passed away. It seems now days most of these treasures are just a part of history. Now days we just eat at restaurants and much of the home fellowship has slipped away. I do miss the way I was raised and it makes me a better person today. How often do you visit with people you dearly love? Just remember life slips away quickly and all we will have is memories. Is there someone that has made a big difference in you life? Here today gone tomorrow. I have probably stirred up memories in many people’s minds with this writing. Just remember special people don’t stay in this life forever. God’s blessings on all.
