I like Cory Gardner...I have always liked Cory Gardner, and I sure as hell am going to vote for Cory Gardner and encourage others to do likewise. But this is a weak ad...its saccharin and woefully lacking in substance. I remember when I was a youngster and was lamenting the fact that I thought that in the previous nights fight, the guy challenging Muhammad Ali fought just as well as Ali, maybe even just a bit better. My teacher, an avid sports fan, admonished me You can just fight as good as the champ or even a little better...in order to become the champ, you have to BEAT the champ! He was absolutely right. Sen. Useless is the current champ...the incumbent. You cant just say youre a nice guy with a nice family and that that youll work hard...you have to explain, WITH SUBSTANCE, why you are the better choice. Elderly relatives and cute kids make a nice picture, but in the final analysis they wont beat the champ. Jabs and punches win the fight...even Ali came out of the rope-a-dope to knock out George Foreman. If Gardner has a knock-out blow waiting, I sure hope its a real haymaker...
