I made it back in from anchoring at Cape Lookout NC. Five days out - TopicsExpress

I made it back in from anchoring at Cape Lookout NC. Five days out on anchor and Hurricane Arthur started blowing as I entered my dock. My friend Victors boat (Islander 30) broke down and were going to raft most of the week so he couldnt make it. Then, as my other friend Stan sailed with me (Cal 29) to the Cape on a close reach we had dinner on his boat. He had to go back because of exhaust problems. Then, Ray and Kim (Morgan 32) invited me to dinner on there boat and told me how there exhaust manifold part had problems and they were stuck at Cape Lookout waiting for part. Mike and Dina met me at the Cape and brought ice and beer after 3 days on anchor (21 skiff). I was heading in to take my trash in and Kim and Cindy came out in there (Grady White 22) and took my trash back for me (thanks love ya). As I sailed in with the (dolphin sky picture) my impeller was barley dripping, so I sailed into Shackelford Island and met Steve and Deb (32 Welcraft) and rafted for a while. Last night I anchored in Beaufort NC and sailed all the way to my dock this morning. Cranked the engine just before it over heated to dock. John came in to my lift temporary for the storm (Oday 272) and his engine had problems overheating. (very interesting docking I must say. (flipping boat around against current) The wind tonight is going to blow close to 100 mph tonight. It was a challenge this week, but had a wonderful adventure. Without my boating friends, it would not been anything but another night on the boat. Thank God for good friends and a memorable adventure. Now, lets see what tonight might bring with this storm.
