I may be lining up for the firing squad but here it goes: i will try to keep this short... Baltimore is my home and the hometown of our band the SONIC CREEPS. Ive been going back and forth against people who were slamming the bands for taking on this gig, most of which like myself had no prior knowledge of what took place at last years event or even a clue to the the shitstorm the would follow for accepting the adjacent gig. In the process of trying to do what i thought was right and stand up publicly for myself, my band and the people playing i made myself an enemy and put my own goals of the band ahead of the bigger issues at hand. It was not my intention to wage a one man war against MDF or the local music scene of which i am very fond of, but i stuck my neck out alittle to far and ended up taking a bullet for the promotors of deathscape and triggering alot of hate with my comments. Simply, I was shoved so i shoved back. To sum this up, myself or the rest of the sonic creeps dont ever cancel gigs BUT in light of all thats taken place and the bad taste its left with the local music scene here, i ask you all: What do you think is the right thing to do now in regard to either playing this gig or dropping off of it??. Most, if not ALL of you wont be in attendance (or probably give a shit about us) either way but if its the only act i can make to prove that me and my band care about the community we play for and represent when we play out we would leave it up to the people to voice your opinions? This is all getting out of control and is not something i want to be associated with. Although we do not want to quit the show, as we love to play... We also dont wanna be known as an act that cares not of bigger issues. I dont expect to win over anyone or expect a pat on the back... I just want your opinions to take into better consideration without the online war.
