I must register my astonishment at the flowery language that is being used to praise Moi, a vain attempt to cleanse him of all the evils he perpetrated. One would think he was canonised only yesterday! Remember it was during his reign that we had,for the first time, a history proffessor as Governor of the Central Bank(Dr. Eric Kotut) and under whose watch Goldenberg was hatched and executed. Consequently the economy collapsed and even graduates could not get jobs. I know someone who got a first class honours in Mechanical Engineering in our year but who struggled for years to get a job! After Goldenberg the shilling hit a low of 65 from 10 Shillings to the dollar.When Moi left the presidency the economy was doing a measly -1%. We shall be paying for Mois mistakes for a time to come!
