I never have been in the traditional OSAS camp, but after having read and studied the reformed position on this, I tend to agree with it because it makes complete sense. And, no Im not a Calvinist....I follow Jesus and Jesus alone, I just tend to agree with a great deal of the reformed theology. Can truly converted people lose their salvation? Answer: Those who have TRUE faith can never lose it; those who lose their faith never had it. 1 John 2:19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us. But they went out, that it might become plain that they all are not of us. There are those who make a profession of faith and become deeply immersed in the life of the church or in some Christian organization, only later to leave the church and disavow the faith they professed. It is easy to become converted to institutions but lack a genuine conversion to Christ. There are ministries that are skilled in making Christianity appealing so that people join in droves, but those who join do so without ever dealing with Christ or with sin. Jesus told the parable of the sower that explains this well. The point of the parable is that only seed sown in good soil will last, and the good soil is the transformed soul that has been regenerated by the Holy Spirit. (some is from R.C. Sproul)
