“I never understood the relation of a man, his desires and the - TopicsExpress

“I never understood the relation of a man, his desires and the God.” He kept looking at me silently. I said “A man’s 80% wishes are un-necessary, permissible and innocent. And if ALLAH fulfills them, although He has no problem in doing it, but these files of desires keep dribbling from table to table and from the office of one person to another” I looked up at his face. It was silent, appeasing and smiling. I continued “For example, a student does the hard work and also prays to ALLAH for his success, but he fails instead. For example, a patient gets himself operated by the best doctor in the city and with that prays to ALLAH to heal him’ a business man opens a shop in the main market and prays to bless his business’ a young man wants to marry by his choice’ a job less man applies for a visa’ a players practices for a whole year’ parents send their children to high class educational institutes’ government employees save each penny for their whole life’ a hungry man wishes for food etc’ but Sir their all these wishes never come true. The patient dies asking Him to get cured, a job less man grows old applying for a job, the student despite of his intelligent mind fails instead. Why Khawaja Saab? Why ALLAH does not fulfill their permissible wishes? What is the expedient in it?” He smiled and spoke after a little while “Your reason to blame is right but there is another motive in it.” He stopped for a while and then spoke again “to explain this motive, I would like to give you a parable. You must have seen young children. Many times they wake up at night and cry so that their mother can feed them. But the mother, despite that the milk feeders are nearby, don’t give them. Similarly an ill child would time and again ask for prohibited foods but parents don’t listen to them. They wish to run on the road, to play with the knives. But the parents turn down their all requests. Why?” He looked at me but I remained silent. He said “Because the mother knows that if she gives the child milk at that time of night, the child would certainly fell ill or develop stomach problems. They know right time to give them sweets, let them run at the street. Imagine what would be consequences if the parents accept such demands of their children?” He became silent. I turned myself and asked him “Khawaja Saab what is the common between a man’s wishes and the example of children? I could not get it” He spoke softly “A human is like a child in this universe and ALLAH loves them seventy times more than a mother. Therefore He knows what to give at what time. He is completely aware of present and future of him. He knows if He fulfills the wish or need of human it would only bring harm to him. We, because of our short thinking, think it as our bad luck or blame Him of being cruel.” “If a student is rusticated from university, it is considered to be the biggest failure of a student. But when Harvard University rusticated Bill Gates, he went out and started a company Microsoft and became known to the world by his name. He met so big success after a little failure. If he was never rusticated, he could have been doing some job in a company or could have become a professor. But the nature made him a successful man after making him a failed student. I think when Bill Gates was rusticated from the university; he must have blamed ALLAH for that. But ALLAH knew his future, thus He smilingly ignored all his wishes.” After a little pause, he continued “There are always hidden expediencies in the turning down of our requests and the un-fulfilled wishes etc. And we understand such hidden prudent measures only when we meet success. In my view, the greatest expediency is to ‘wait and see’. Ask from ALLAH, and then wait.” I said “If we accept your motive, then the importance of prayers would escape” He moved his head in negation and said “Praying is to worship. He is the lord of the universe. He likes his men bent towards Him and begging. Our prayers remain devotion until we don’t complain Him in our prayers and requests. But when you plead and make wishes to Him mixed with complaints, that day our prayers don’t remain as and prayers anymore. My child, always keep thanking ALLAH and ask him without complaining. He will remain happy from you always.”
