I noticed the neighbors had cut down the kalamungay trees as I set down my Rolling Rock beer and reclined to watch the stars appear. It is much more temperate sitting in my backyard than my oven house. For the first time, I noticed the kiawe trees sillouetted against the blazing evening sky. I counted not one, but five foot long shadows skittering along the tree branches. RATS! These are the vermin made those clicking noises as they conducted their business;on past nights, I had mistaken those noises for the evening gekko. One had the balls to chase after me through the tall grass as I ran screaming back in my house. Now I am staring wide eyed at my backyard. The facts all makes sense: my neighbors collection of outdoor trash, abundance of chicken/pig feed, the mystery of my disappearing tomatoes, appearance of contorted rat carcasses, the lingering stench of rotting flesh and the roving wild cats. RAT INFESTATION! Oh God, I need to move. HAHA #reallifeHorror
