I observed Jupiter on March 13, 2014 (01:00 U.T.) using my 9-inch (23-cm) F/13.5 Maksutov-Cassegrain at 169x and 203x. I was able to detect a good amount of detail over the planet, especially the South Equatorial Belt (SEB) preceding the Great Red Spot (GRS). The South Polar Region (SPR) appeared dark to dusky (3-4/10) and mottled with thin dusky to dull (4-5/10) bands within it. The South Temperate Belt (STB) appeared broad and dark to dusky (3-4/10). The South Tropical Zone (STrZ) appeared bright (7/10) without significant detail noted within it. The South Equatorial Belt (SEB) appeared dark to dusky (3-4/10) and complex. A bright to very bright (7-8/10), undulating rift was visible within it towards the following (c.) limb and preceding the Great Red Spot (GRS; 3-4/10, pale Salmon-Red color). The Equatorial Zone (EZ) appeared shaded to bright (6-7/10) with a thin, dusky (4/10) band over its mid-section. Projections from blue festoons were noted over its northern half extending from the southern border of the North Equatorial Belt (S-NEB). The North Equatorial Belt (NEB) appeared thin and containing dusky (4/10) condensations and thin, bright (7/10) rifts. The North Tropical Zone (NTrZ) appeared bright (7/10) without any detail noted within it. The North Temperate Belt (NTB) appeared thin, and dark to dusky (3-4/10) and at times of steadier seeing appeared to be bisected. The North Polar Rgion (NPR) appeared dark to dull (3-5/10) and mottled with fine dusky (4/10 condensations noted within it. I enjoyed several brief moments of steady seeing, but was otherwise a little better than average. I hope that you all like it
