I read something awhile back, and I wish I even vaguely remembered - TopicsExpress

I read something awhile back, and I wish I even vaguely remembered when it came from so I could credit it and give context, but one point of whatever it was really stuck with me: todays 20-somethings lived their entire lives being told you have to work hard, get good grades, and go to college if you dont want to spend your life flipping burgers! So they (we) did so - we worked hard, we went to college where we worked even harder - and now they (we) are being told they are entitled if they dont want to flip burgers for a living. As far as we knew, we did everything we we supposed to do to be successful. I went to a great college and I HAVE a degree. I know life isnt fair, and its not the same economy, and times change. But I hate being looked at as lazy just because Im in my late 20s without a full-time job. I worked hard and still I work hard. And maybe some people my age dont. But a lot of people my age DO. This isnt a commentary on minimum wage or anything like that. Just frustration as I think back to the statement from whatever it was I read years ago and how much it hits home today.
