I received a call yesterday from a woman who spoke mandarin. She had trouble communicating but I understood she had found a little chihuahua who was in heat. She was on a fixed income and wanted to do right by the little chi an get her fixed and vaccinated. Long phone call short I was able to find her free spay neuter services in her area in 30 seconds. She was crying she was so happy someone helped her. This has stuck with me- how many vets did she call before she was helped? It took 30 seconds and just a little compassion. We could all be a little nicer and more patient with one another.
