I received word from New York this afternoon, the team all reviewed the scans and decided unanimously that surgery to remove or biopsy this mass would prove far to risky for Marcus at this time . The masss size and location will make it very difficult to access, that along with the fact that Marcus has already endured two very high risk complicated surgeries in the last nine months makes it two risky at this point. The tumors location also rules out radiation as it is too close to the bone. They suggest we continue with another round of chemo on Dec. 2nd and than have another PET scan on Dec. 10th they will review those scans and try to access how fast it is progressing and whether or not the chemo regimen he is on will stabilize it. They want to make absolutely sure his body has as much time to recovery from previous surgeries before undergoing this one giving him the best odds.
