I remember back when the Braves were at Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium there used to be a very small group of protesters protesting the Braves name. The gathering of folks got up to about 20 when the Indians played the Braves in the 1995 World Series, which was the first one I ever attended. The Braves havent made the Series since 1999 and it has been longer than that since Ive noticed anyone bemoaning their name outside of the stadium in Atlanta. I guess the Indians get to deal with it in Cleveland every Opening Day, but prior to this article I had never heard anything about protesting outside of Progressive Field.
