I sadly discovered several days ago that a good friend, mentor, fellow advocate, true warrior passed on January 1st of this year. Leonard Henderson – a good man, an honorable man, a man of integrity, a man who loved his children and his family. He utilized a few self-proclaimed aliases; “old daddy, grumpy old fart, ornery old coot, Benevolent Dictator, but mostly identified as Leonard Henderson, co-founder of American Family Rights. Even in the latest stages of his illness, his concern – first and foremost – was always for families. I am forever grateful for Leonard’s guidance, advice, and continued dedication to fighting CPS. And though he has passed, his legacy and his AFR site that he created will continue to serve as a teaching tool for families. His focus on improving the lives of others set an example for all of us to follow. Through his site and his teaching he is still present – His message was simple: “Get the Truth on the Record!†I am grateful that I was able to express my gratitude directly to him not long ago and remind him that he made a difference to thousands of families. I will miss our chats on the nights when he couldn’t sleep. Rest well my friend – through your work, you will continue to make a difference. My condolences to his family and friends. Leonard was by nature a peacemaker and wanted to help “fix†things, more specifically, to help “people in trouble with CPS†by “pulling them out of the fire.†He believed, that as a “gung-ho Christian†his Mission from God was to help families caught up with CPS. He believed that To have children born to you and remain in your custody is a FUNDAMENTAL RIGHT.†That “what this evil system does is stomp that right effortlessly, based on someones imagination or concern.†And he generously gave of his time 24/7 to answer peoples concerns about CPS kidnapping their kids. He began his advocacy and AFR in the late 1990’s because, as he explained, his family had been “done dirty by CPS and he was then “PISSED OFF FOREVER about it.†He was blamed for some rebellious teenage actions of his step-son. He was, as he states, “Madder than HELL when I got done, so I co-founded AFR to help others deal with this evil, SATANIC CPS. His experiences with CPS led him to declare “WAR with CPS,†and he spent the remainder of his life teaching young (and older) parents about what is considered abuse and warning them about CPS- with the belief that what they don’t know- CAN hurt them! For those that knew Leonard, we will recall how he affectionately referred to social workers and the agency using many colorful terms, such as; “evil, SATANIC, insane, liars, rotten, goose stepping Nazis, dirty, communists, a mismanaged monster, Lucifers meat grinder, incompetent, corrupt, psychotic agency of government, tyrants, evil people, … and other’s (I have taken the liberty to censor). But his tirades usually concluded with Gawd I hate these people.†Witnessing the evil perpetuated on families day in and day out tends to make one very angry. And Leonard would say, “we have an agency of the government kidnapping children and harassing the parents mercilessly, and on top of everything else, its all a big secret what has happened, THAT really pisses me off.†Last year, Leonard posted: Some days, I feel frustrated. Here on these help groups, every day new people show up needing help with their CPS case. Their stories are all pretty similar- 1. I did everything CPS told me to, 2. They wont give my kids back, 3. My court appointed lawyer did nothing, 4. The CPS workers egregiously lied, 5. The judge didnt care, What grieves me the most is how ungawdly ignorant people are about CPS, and I loudly wonder why there is NO public knowledge about it. Some days, dealing with all this heartbreak just gets to me. Professional Detachment can burn out. So why dont I just sh*#-can my efforts and go do stuff other guys my age do? [Drink, gamble, and watch sports(?)] Well, I am a Christian too. The Bible sez- ...save others by snatching them from the fire; to others show mercy, mixed with fear--hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh. Jude 1:23 (NIV) A big part of that is reaching out to help hurting people- Families whose children have been kidnapped by government are certainly hurting. So if some parent did something uncriminal, I am expected to help them get their kids back and help save families. Every once in a while, somebody has a big victory. And that makes it all worthwhile. There were those persons that mistook Leonard’s rants as him attacking them, when in reality, his tactic was to snap them out of their wallowing and get them as “pissed off†as he was so that they would fight back. He would often say, “Yeah, I AM trying to get you really PISSED OFF. You should be!†This would of course be followed by some appropriate meme and a link to HOW TO FIGHT CPS. (He did have an innate ability to tick people off and often got carried away with his comments, going to far, but he remained passionate about his mission). Plus, Facebook REALLY frustrated him, and hardly a day went by that he didn’t comment “I hate, hate HATE facebook. Especially for this advoacy thing. YAHOO groups much better because it does a lot better job keeping threads together†So, to continue Leonard’s legacy – some of Leonard’s Gospel: The object is to get the case SHUT DOWN by Getting the TRUTH ON THE RECORD. And then if the court doesnt go your way, the FACTS are ON THE RECORD for Appeal. Thats it. Theres the secret. “ familyrights.us/how_to/fight_cps.html • Your version of history in the form of a well-written Affidavit or Sworn Declaration once written (and edited), and with any evidence attached, is to be filed with the court clerk and include Service to all parties. • Your Declaration should be clearly stated and not include opinions, feelings or vague accusations. Stick to the facts. It takes quite a bit of time getting your Sworn Declaration just right. It is NOT something your write on a spiral notebook to your friend. • Once these gawd damned judges saw that you had just done an end run around their crooked ass, they MIGHT just call the whole mess off and give you your child back.†• If your really lucky your case will be dismissed. • RECORD – Leonard said, “When I was going through it 13 years ago, before the meeting started I TOLD them I was going to record it for future legal purposes. It stopped all their lying accusatory bullsh*# dead in its tracks, and that was the end of CPS in my life. In fact, they ran like scalded cats.†• You are dealing with the most incompetent, corrupt, psychotic agency of government. The CPS is all about Character Assassination. Its what they do. • Neglect is one of the things CPS agents make up off the top of their heads. The reason she couldnt tell you exactly WHAT it was because it hadnt been fabricated yet. • Referring to a service plan, Leonard said; What a Family court judge does can highly depend on whether he likes you or just looking at you pisses him off. But a judge is the one who is supposed to decide if you refuse to volunteer. The under duress thing is for signing things you are forced to do. I have never done that, but I dont think it makes a bit of difference in this system.†Of course the AFR site should be thoroughly explored, it holds many years of collected resources, wit, and wisdom to help parents fight to reunite with their children.
