I sent an email to a friend of mine yesterday. I was getting leaves out of the yard when I started thinking about the events of the day and had to stop and come in and write the email. not all of you will agree with what I had to say and I wish I could tell more about the events of the day, but, my friend appreciated it immensely after the shock that her daughter was sick. it is as follows: subject: The diagnosis of Xxxxx Xxxxx Dear Ms Xxxxxx; It is with great grief and a heavy heart with which I am called upon to write this letter. Your daughter has recently received a diagnosis with which no parent should ever had to deal. While it is not fatal, in most cases, it is still not something any parent would be proud to know. Yes Ms Duvall, your daughter is a Democrat. I know that you immediately want to go into denial on this, but, please don’t put yourself through that type of grief. This is not some type of sick joke nor is it a missed diagnosis. The signs are obvious and undeniable. The first and most undeniable sign is the insistence that they and they alone know what is in the best interest of someone else regardless of what the other wants. Secondly, the inability to stick to the truth rather than to go off on a tangent of lies to avoid the real issues, their disease. And last but not least, the feeling of some great accomplishment even though they hurt the one they intend to help. I suppose at this point you are starting to understand why we believe the diagnosis of your daughter. While it is devastating for a parent to learn this about their child, at least it is not fatal. I would like to let you know some of the symptoms of this disease as you will soon be seeing these first hand. First, as the disease progresses, you will note redden of the face whenever she is challenged on the righteousness of her deeds and thoughts. Second, and this is the most devastating to a parent, the in ability of their brain to think at the speed their tongue moves. They will irrationally try to justify their actions by the belief of a greater good. To date, there are no known cures, however, there are several effective treatments available. Yes, the most effective would be an over the knee medication, but, sometimes that is just not appropriate. The most effective cure has been determined to be self reliance. This is a medication that prevents hand outs to individuals that are smarter, at least in their own minds, than the people from which they feel they are entitled the hand out. Yes, this is the hardest medication to distribute, but, still the most effective and our best hope against this disease. An alternative to this medication is total self reliance. The worst side effect of this medication besides being a very bitter pill to swallow is failure. This is often the result from this medication and can leave permanent mental scars. The only other known cure is age and observation. They only way to administer this medication is over time. In many cases this medication has to be taken for many years. It is most effective in people with individual goals. Sincerely and with best wishes……………………
