I shall continue with my message: WHAT IS THE SIGNIFICANCE OF WATER BAPTISM? (Part 2) What is trinity? It means three personalities but I will tell you now that our God is not a person so where do you get that personality from? God is a spirit, He is omnipresent and He is omnipotent…..It is one God in three offices for the purpose of our redemption, He is the father as the creator of the heavens and the earth, He is the son as the savior of the world and He is the Holy spirit as the comforter and teacher to dwell in man. Remember, God picks for Himself a name which always refers to what He is doing at that time. When He was delivering the people of Israel from Egypt at the burning bush, He introduced Himself to Moses as “I AM THAT I AM” meaning the ever same God, He changeth not. In the wilderness He told the children of Israel that He is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob meaning the covenant keeping God but now He is save His elects the Bride with the name Jesus which means God Jehovah saves. NOTE: The word “Jehovah” is not the name of our God, it is just a title like father, son and Holy ghost. Just as it is in every language, there is always a word that means the same as the word “god”. A god is anything that is worthy of worship. In Igbo we have “CHIUKWU”, in Yoruba we have “OLUWA” so in the Hebrew tongue it is called “JEHOVAH”. This word cannot stand alone as we can see in “JEHOVAH ELOHIM” which means God, the creator of the heavens and the earth. Now, by entering that water in a water baptism by immersion, you are identifying with the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The water must cover you which symbolizes burial and you coming out of that water symbolizes resurrection, the grave could not hold Jesus captive likewise you the grave will not hold you captive. The bible says, “If the spirit that rose up Christ be in you, by that same spirit will you resurrect”. On another point of view, water baptism cannot stop a seed of God from entering into heaven.Rev.17:8 makes us to understand that names of those who will be save have been written before the foundation of this world, which explains Roms.8:28 & 29,speaking of “Foreknowledge” and “Predestination”. My claim that even without water baptism a seed of God can still make heaven, is looking at the thief on the cross and children who die under aged, I believe that if those children came from God, after their death they will return back to Him and Roms.8:28 says that we are called according to His purpose. The only ticket for Rapture is the baptism of the Holy ghost i.e the spirit of Christ, that same spirit that rose Christ form the grave now being in you is called the baptism of the Holy ghost. A person can also receive the baptism of the Holy ghost even before the water baptism but the dangerous thing there is that if you have the opportunity to be baptized and you did not baptize, it is a clear evidence that your name is not in the book of life. There are wrong water baptism as I close on this, which are: 1. BAPTISM BY SPRINKLING: This is not burial, if a man dies, do you sprinkle sand on him as burial? Of course NO. Before baptism, a person must die to sin and to all these errors thought in church today first, then you can enter the water and let the water cover your whole body, this is called immersion. 2. INFANT BAPTISM: Baptizing children under eleven years of age is wrong because the bible says, “Repent first”. Allow the child to grow, baptism is a personal decision, the bible says, “For we shall give account of ourselves”. 3. BAPTISM IN THE TITTLES OF FATHER,SON AND HOLT SPIRIT IS WRONG: In obedience to the instruction in Matt.28:19 is baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
