I shared something very beautiful and hopeful yesterday - about - TopicsExpress

I shared something very beautiful and hopeful yesterday - about the rapturous elegance of nature, of knowledge, and of silence. This experience touched the very core of my heart. This song, sung by Tang Keo, to protest the forced displacement of his village by the mighty sugar cane industry, touches a similar chord, because it rings so powerful and true. Tang Keo wrote this song within minutes of his farmland being bulldozed and seized. And he sang it for us, out of the blue, in the middle of a sugar cane field, a field that once belonged to him and the farmers of his village. I still cry when I hear this song, reminded of the many people who are still being displaced and evicted from their homes in Cambodia. All of us today encounter misery daily This misery robs our freedom Power and rank trample on the poor and impoverished Even at night and when the sun shines, we cannot forget. - Tang Keo (By Kalyanee Mam)
