I spun a braid of Shetland combed top from an indie dyer way back when I first started spinning and honestly didnt like it at all. I can remember it hurting my fingers when I was spinning. Kinda like a rope burn or a rug burn or something. I havent used it since. I think it was asked here by someone how much people like Shetland. I immediately turned up my nose like a big snob, but everyone else was just gushing over how much they loved it, how soft it was etc... I was like hmmm. Really? Ok then. I bought 5 pounds of unwashed raw Shetland in this absolutely amazing heather grey color. Its so soft!! I mean soft guys!! Look at it! It doesnt need to be dyed but if it was...OMG can you imagine the depth of color this would create? It would be amazing! Im a complete convert! Now I wonder what was up with that braid I got way back in the day, and a big thank you for changing my mind to everyone here in this group. Its lovely fiber.
