I think I already posted this poem a few weeks back, but with my current health issues, I truthfully dont remember. Not only that, but under the circumstances, it really fits the moment. Today was a rough day on me. My son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren returned home to Lansing last night and we miss them terribly. Then I ran into a former co-worker who was very happy to see me and hugged me and on and on....but I had to tell her that I couldnt remember her name. I am so glad my wonderful wife came home tonight. I really needed to feel her soft shoulders for just a moment so I could close my eyes and pretend this rotten disease isnt happening. Again I Find Us I touched you...and the magic was there. And in that moment, I was taken back in time... Another place, another day, another night... My memories of us came flooding back. My face flush with excitement... My hands trembling with the anticipation of you... All the magic that was us Abounds in our love. And I look at you now in the radiance of day, And you are here...it is real. All the magic that never left... The love that never wavered. You stand before me in magic splendor... All your beauty, And once again, I know this love is real. The excitement is there... The laughter, the tears, the passion, the strength and the love... Everything that we were... Everything that we are... Everything we will always be. And in this moment, I sigh in peace and happiness... For I know we are one... As we always have been... As we always shall be. M. William Scott *To my wife, Susan Marie, who refused to let us die.
